About the author

Adriana Guidi is a realist/impressionist painter from Southern California, specializing in portraits, both human and animal. Her favorite mediums include oil, pastel, watercolor, charcoal/pencil and acrylic. Adriana was always surrounded by art. Her uncle Victor Amadio himself an artist attended Chouinard’s Art Institute where he was a student of Nicolai Fechin , Frank Tolles Chamberlin and Lawrence Murphy, who was also a friend and contemporary. ”Visits with my uncle would include instruction on the head and figure and he encouraged me to study and practice with the Bridgman books.” “I was always sketching and into anything creative, but it wasn’t until my mom gave me some books on the French Impressionists that I really fell in love with painting. I was drawn to the beautiful light and colors.” Adriana studied Life Drawing and Design at Los Angeles Valley College, where she had her first introduction to live models. Later she studied with friend and world renowned artist Richard Morris and took various workshops at the LA Academy of Figurative Art. Adriana has exhibited at the Malibleu Gallery, The Chocolate and Art Show, Dwell on Design, Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, Colors of Change Art Show,Fort Worth Community Arts Center, World Art Foundation, Carter Sexton, Japanese Cultural Festival, Two Dogs Gallery and Frame, Follow Your Heart and World Art Supply. Her art has been published in Lowerider Arte Magazine, RebelRodz, Southwest Art Magazine November 2014 and Art Journey/ Portraits & Figures .She’s completed many murals including ones for The Make a Wish Foundation and Western Costume. Her smaller mini paintings are in private collections here in the United States as well as Australia, Canada and the U.K. Adriana has also earned awards from Aaron Brothers and Daniel Smith and has been featured on Artsy Shark. Aside from painting, Adriana is heavily involved with animal rescue groups and frequently contributes articles to Empty Adriana lives in Southern California with her partner Dan and 2 beautiful feline companions Weinerskittels and Miss B. She is a member of the Degas Pastel Society.
