Alexa Meade has innovated a reverse Trompe L’Oeil technique that incorporates painting, photography, performance, and installation art to optically compress 3D space into a 2D plane. Her current project focuses on painting portraits directly on top of her human subjects.
Alexa Meade’s unique approach to portraiture has been featured in The Washington Post, The London Telegraph, CNN, The Today Show, Al Jazeera, Art Daily, Juxtapoz Magazine, and Italian Elle Magazine. Alexa Meade is represented by Irvine Contemporary in Washington, DC. Her art has been exhibited at Postmasters Gallery in New York City and at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
