As a lifelong artist, formal training didn’t begin until later in life after taking his first drawing class at the Art league of Long Island.
Persuing his passion he attended classes in painting landscapes and seascapes in several media. When he took his first class in pastel portraiture, Gerry found his true inspiration.
His work has been accepted in three national shows: The Salmagundi Club (’10) and the Pastel Society of America (’11,'14). He has won numerous awards for his work and has had several one person shows. One of his pieces was recently added to the collection of the National Arts Club in NYC.He continues to exhibit at galleries in New York City and on Long Island.
