About the author

Gail Peck was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. She has always been inspired by the natural world and has been involved in art making since she was a small child. Gail received her Bachelor’s of Art in Art History from Arizona State University. She is currently studying at Maryland Institute College of Art and expects to graduate with a Master’s of Fine Art in Studio Art in 2024. Gail uses her artwork as a vehicle for creating awareness, posing questions, and for making statements on various social issues. The most prevalent themes in her work include motherhood, grief, and the feminine experience. As a multi-disciplinary artist, her paintings, photography, and assemblage have been shown in the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum, the National Cathedral, The Invitational Gallery at Strathmore, BlackRock Center for the Arts, in addition to multiple galleries, and art centers throughout North America. Her painting, Gustav’s Quilt I, won first place in the “Introspective Images” exhibition in Bethesda, MD in 2004. Her work is held in multiple private collections throughout the United States and has appeared in The Washington Post. She is presently exploring new pathways for her practice through the use of sound and video in her work.
