I am best known for my ethereal landscape paintings. I create art by combining what I see, capturing the essence of the subject and recording it simply with light and warmth.
The original techniques of shading and extruding have been augmented with color theory, atmosphere, edge quality and experimentation. The background is lightly blocked in, pulling the graphite into the paint and using it to darken and tone down the edges. This layer is thin and is allowed to reflect back. Sometimes the lines are still visible in the finished painting and at other times I remove the edges altogether to add strength.
My work is in the permanent collections of many corporations including Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Wealth Management, corporations, public institutions, as well as private collections. I am a self-taught artist and gallery owner in Washington,DC.
