After receiving a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, I founded and operated a ceramic tile manufacturing firm in Los Angeles, and sold it after 18 successful years in order to move to New Mexico.
My transition to fiber art continued a lifelong passion, after almost 20 years in the ceramics industry it was time to pursue another medium. I minored in textile design while at Rhode Island and the Kansas City Art Institute, and learned to create works from the raw fiber on up.
Constant experimentation with new materials and techniques fuel my work, which has many sources of inspiration. Nature, diurnal and nocturnal rhythms, biology and paleontology continue to be mined for a rich diversity of finished product. I incorporate mixed media into my work if it can be used to further the impact of the design, not merely for the sake of novelty.
I am a published fiber artist and teacher, and maintain a busy exhibition schedule nationally and internationally.
