Originally from New York, Eileen Crowe began her art education working with various mediums in high school. Following the completion of her graduate degree from Louisiana State University, Eileen moved back to the east coast, eventually settling in Maryland. In 2001, she began to focus her interest on landscapes and transitioned to working with oils, now her preferred medium. Her work has been particularly influenced by both European and American artists including Claude Monet, William Merritt Chase, and Edward Hopper.

“In my paintings I attempt to capture the effect of a moment on the environment, whether it is the dark shadows cast by the sun on a canal path on a hot summer day, or the light dancing off of the water at sunrise on a beach. I find endless inspiration in the beautiful scenery found on the east coast as well as the opportunities provided to explore new landscape images wherever I am.”

Eileen has studied painting with renowned landscape artists throughout the country including Wolf Kahn at the National Academy in New York. In addition, she has studied at the St. Ives School of Painting in Cornwall, England. Her work is part of many private collections
