L. Nichols was born and raised in rural southwest Louisiana and went on to study engineering and media at MIT. L has a unique voice that utilizes the language of science and engineering to add an additional layer of meaning and complexity to her work. Nichols also incorporates elements of comics to turn her paintings into broader narrative forms. She has published over a dozen comics and art books. Her work has been in several group shows across NYC and State, including murals at La Esquina, Williamsburg; the Crest Hardware Art Show 2012; and a month long solo viewing at Everything Goes Café, July 2012. L currently lives in Brooklyn and works as a freelance artist and designer.
