About the author

LeAnn Erickson is a Professor of film and video production at Temple University and an independent video/filmmaker. Her work has appeared on public television, cable television and has won national and international recognition in video/film festivals including Oberhausen (Germany), Women in Filmmaking (Los Angeles), Auburn International (Australia) and L’immagine Leggera (Italy). She has received regional and national production grants for her work including grants from the NEA, the Jerome Foundation, the IEEE Foundation and the Leeway Foundation. In 2010 she completed ‘Top Secret Rosies: The Female Computers of WWII’, a feature length historical documentary that has screened internationally and is distributed by PBS, Inc. In 2014 she released ‘The Computer Wore Heels’, an interactive iPad bookapp based on the film.
