Sangita Phadke
About the author

Sangita Phadke was born in Barrington, Illinois. She earned her BA in finance at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. As a self taught artist, Sangita has developed her photo realistic style through experimentation of color and an obsession with detail. Highly regarded as a pastel artist, her larger than life fruits and vegetables have earned her numerous awards including the Audubon Artists Gold Medal of Honor, and Best in Show at the Somerset Art Association, The New Jersey Pastel Painters Society, and The Guild of Creative art in Shrewsbury where she teaches a pastel course. Sangita’s work has been shown in national and international exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, the National Arts Club, the Butler Institute of American Art, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Art Gallery of Hamilton Ontario, the San Diego Art Institute, The Noyes Museum of Art, and the Artists Magazine. Sangita currently resides in Colts Neck, New Jersey. She is on the Board of Governors of The Pastel Society of America. She is also a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Noyes Museum of Art as well as a juried member of the American Artist’s Professional League and the National Association of Women Artists.
