About the author

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Dudley Zopp graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. and M.A. in Modern Foreign Languages, and completed Post-Graduate studies in Drawing and Painting at the Hite Art Institute, University of Louisville. She lives in Lincolnville, Maine. Zopp’s engagement with restoring habitat where she lives feeds directly into her work, which ranges from site specific installations to paintings and artist’s books. She has completed residencies at geologically significant sites in Newfoundland, Spain and Italy, and since 2015 has structured independent residencies in Kentucky and New Mexico. Her travels take her next to the marshlands of South Carolina. Zopp has exhibited widely at galleries, universities, and museums in New England and the Midwest, and her work is included in the collections of the Portland Museum of Art and the Farnsworth Art Museum, as well as other university and museum collections nationally. In 2016 she exhibited Roadside Erratics, an installation, at the University of Maine at Farmington and completed a print residency at the University of Maine in Orono. Her artist’s book, Is There Something We Can Do, exhibited at Steel House Projects (Rockland, Maine, 2018) is held in the collections of the Hawthorne-Longfellow Library at Bowdoin and the Haas Family Library at Yale.
