John Fleming Gould (1906-1996) had a long career in art as a freelance illustrator and art instructor. As a graduate of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY in the late 1920's Mr.Gould went on to excel in the pulp illustration field and later in the 30's and 40's with the Curtis Publishing Co. and the Saturday Evening Post. For over 25 years he was an artist and consultant with the General Electric Co.
The last 25 years of his life he painted scenes of the historic Hudson River Valley. In 1957 Mary and John Gould founded the Bethlehem Art Gallery in Cornwall, NY. The gallery is now an online business promoting the legacy of artist John Gould. Robert Gould
