Alexej Savreux was born in northwestern Vermont outside of Montreal and raised in the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland and later in the American Southwest. He is a graffiti and video artist that is interested in the relationship between the academic mind and the creative mind and how language can be used to modify the human heart. His work seeks to expose how immaculate beauty always remains an intrinsic part of our modern, often mad, and overwhelming world and is focused heavily on the synthesis of absurdist humor with contemporary social theory. Savreux is also a poet and critic, and the lines between his work are often blurred between a multitude of disparate disciplines. He currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri, and divides his time between Kansas City and New York among lots of other places and initiatives.
