Alice Whealin maintains her studio in Arlington, VA currently. Her education includes a bronze casting apprenticeship at The Johnson Atelier Institute of Sculpture, Princeton, NJ and a B.A. in Art from Rowan University, NJ. She was awarded a Teaching Fellowship to MFA program at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Alice Whealin has exhibited extensively in the Mid-Atlantic area. Her drawings, paintings and sculptures have been included in over 100 exhibitions to date.

Alice’s art works have been curated for exhibits at The Maryland Institute for the Arts, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, DC, the Katherine Ewing Gallery, DC, by the International Sculpture Center’s gallery at Arnold and Porter, DC, the Greater Reston Art Center, VA, the Arlington Art Center, VA, the Ellipse Art Gallery, VA, Montgomery College‘s Paul Peck Center, MD, and at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, MD and more in the Baltimore, MD area.

Two solo exhibits of her drawings were held at George Mason University, Arlington, VA in 2000 and 2001. Her sculptures, in a three person exhibit at the Robert Brown Gallery, DC, received a review in The Washington Post on the 4th of July, 1992.

Alice’s drawings have traveled to galleries at the Rhys Gallery, MA and to Lump Gallery, NC, to The Cradle Project exhibition in Albuquerque, NM, and to Beijing, China in 1995 with the National Museum of Women in the Arts, DC, for the United Nation‘s Fourth World Conference.

This past year Alice Whealin’s work was selected for Cream: The Washington Project for the Arts Exhibition at the American University Museum Katzen Art Center’s Museum in Washington, DC. Her art work was most recently selected for a solo exhibition of 32 works at the Mezz Gallery@Artisphere in Arlington, VA.
