I am a scientist and artist currently working in the bay area. I use printmaking as a medium to explore the intersection of art and science and the boundary between the laboratory and the public. The way scientists communicate their findings is of particular interest to me: experts tend to talk amongst themselves in a certain way but approach communication with the so-called “layman” differently, creating a hierarchy of expertise that is difficult to overcome. In my work, I hope to bridge this gap between the academy and the public as best I can. While I work to make the sciences more accessible to everyone, I also strive to make the arts more accessible to scientists.
