Ayokunle Odeleye has been working as a professional sculptor and arts educator for the past forty years. He received a Bachelors Degree in Art Education and a Masters Degree in Sculpture from Howard University. Currently, he is a senior Professor of Sculpture in the School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State University in Georgia where he has been teaching for the past 25 years. He teaches a variety of sculpture and design courses at KSU and in 2002 created and teaches a course on Public Art.
He is the owner, primary designer and fabricator of Odeleye Sculpture Studios in Stone Mountain Georgia. The studio specializes in the creation of large scale sculptures for public spaces. For thirty five years he has been designing and building large scale sculptures in a variety of media for clients across the breathe of the United States from Atlanta to Alaska.
In November of 2012 the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta Georgia honored him with a Retrospective Exhibition of models, drawings, and photographs of his work highlighting thirty three years of excellence in the field of Public Art. The exhibition was also placed on display at Bowie State University in Bowie Maryland in 2013.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Mid South Sculpture Alliance and has served as a Public Art consultant to the Fulton County Arts Council and the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs.
