Born to an immigrant mother, and a southern baptist dad put me smack dab in the middle of a permanent identity crisis as a kid. I was shy, and overwhelmed by my turbulent family life. If there was such thing as solace for me as a child, it was in the form of making art.
Naturally drawn to color and experimentation for the sake of curiosity, I taught myself to use pastels, charcoal, and finally acrylic paints. Once I found my voice as an artist, I began exhibiting and showing my work locally, as well as internationally.
As my body of work grew, so did my collectors, and my public art commissions. Currently I am working closely with several large Pediatric hospitals to have my work featured in their new Children's Hospital Wing, and find this work very rewarding on many levels.
I feel fortunate to work in a profession I adore, and enjoy all the opportunities that continue to come my way, and help me expand my skill sets as an artist.
