New York native and based visual artist, Asha Hanna has made it a point to create beautiful things for the world to enjoy. As a contemporary female artist she creates with a social awareness to engage the public and to articulate current issues in society today.
By applying the visual vocabulary and conventions of glorification, history, beauty and femininity to the subject matter drawn from the urban, the subjects and stylistic references for her paintings are juxtaposed inversions of each other, forcing ambiguity and provocative perplexity to pervade her imagery.
