I'm a young American artist, working mostly in acrylic on canvas. If anything is clear to me at this age, it's that the world needs to keep making art. I believe art should be incredibly honest. It's something you see in your mind, and it's the act of getting dirty to show everyone what it looks like on the inside of your mind. Some things people don't want to see, and some things you don't want to show anyone, but art should be a periscope into another person, because these days, we do almost anything to classify things so that we don't have to engage with them, and that includes people especially. It's important to remember that we're all the same stuff, and I hope that when people see my art, they see that a stranger's mind is just as real as their own.
