AS MS. B THE DOODLE QUEEN, I DOODLE ON A REGULAR BASIS TO ALLOW KINETIC ENERGY TO PUSH ME FORWARD INTO A SPACE OF CALMNESS TO SPONTANTEOUS LINE IMAGERY AND/OR QUIRKY AVANTE-GARDE SHAPES RENDERING THAT MAY RESEMBLE JOAN MIRO OR CY TWOMBLY WHIMISCAL ABSTRACTIONS.
AS A TEACHING ARTIST, I HAVE TAUGHT MY INDIVIDUAL DOODLE ART STYLE IN AN ELECTIC FUN FILLED ART WORKSHOP CALLED “DOODLE TO DABEAT” WHICH HAS HELPED STUDENTS OF ALL AGES LEARN HOW TO DECLUTTER THEIR BRAIN TO GAIN CLAIRITY. I HAVE COLLOBRATED WITH LINCOLN & HARLEM HOSPITALS SO THAT THEIR PATIENTS AND THEIR VISITORS COULD FIND COMFORT IN DOODLING TO OFFSET BOREDOM WHILE IN A HOSPITAL SETTING. MY ART STYLE HAS ALSO FIND ITS WAY TO THE HARLEM YMCA AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM WHERE STUDENTS K-5 DECOMPRESS WITH A DOODLE ACTIVITY BEFORE TACKLING OTHER LIFE SKILL SUBJECTS.
WHILE WORKING WITH THE ROMARE BEARDEN FOUNDATION SHARING FUN FACTS ABOUT ROMARE BEARDEN LIFE AS A HARLEM RESIDENT AND AS AN AWARD WINNING ARTIST, STUDENTS K-5 ADOPT TO MY VARIED TEACHING STYLES TO INCLUDE INQUIRY BASE, CRICITAL THINKING AND COOPERATIVE LEARNING TO INTERCONNECT WITH THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND CHARTER SCHOOL CORE CURICULUM HAPPILY.
EXHIBITING IN GROUP SHOWS AT THE HARLEM STATE BUILDING SEVERAL HARLEM ART GALLERIES TO INCLUDE LEROY NEIMAN, BERMUDA MASTERWORKS MUSEUM, AND AT THE BARBADOS CARIBBEAN ART FAIR. I HAVE HAD ART RESIDENCES WITH BERMUDA MASTERWORKS MUSEUM, IN BARBADOS WITH THE ANNUAL CARIBBEAN ART FAIR, MARTHAS VINEYARD RENASSIANCE HOUSE, AND FOR 2 YEARS WITH THE ROMARE BEARDEN FOUNDATION. I HAVE ALSO WON AN INDIVIDUAL MANHATTAN ARTIST GRANT WITH THE LOWER MANHATTAN CULTURE COUNCIL.
AS THE FOUNDER AND CUARATER OF A MONTHLY ART EXHIBITON CALLED THE “UNDER RADAR ART SERIES” WHERE EMERGING AND MID RANGE ARTISTS SHOWCASE THEIR NEWEST ART SERIES AS A SOLO EHIBITIONIST IN AN ALTERNATIVE SPACE AT THE PHYSICAL THERAPY OF HARLEM OFFICE, PATIENTS, EXHIBITON GUESTS AND COMMUNITY NEBIGHORS HEAL NOT JUST PHSYICALLY BUT EMOTIONALLY AS INSPIRED WITH COLOR AND CONVERSTATION WHILE CONSUMING HEALTHY EATING SNACKS DURING THE OPENING RECEPTIONS AT THIS FREE COMMUNITY EVENT AS SEEN IN THE HUFFINGTON POST NEWSPAPER.
