Throughout my life I’ve been told stories about people and places in the past with the assistance of objects, photographs, and tasks. These experiences hold valuable lessons that resonate. Over time the stories change; memories are forgotten or misremembered and new lessons unfold.
Art attempts to record life in order to recall and inspire. Yet, like our memories, an artist’s efforts never quite match up with what we perceive as reality. These moments of shifting can frustrate, but also provide an opportunity for play.
