I come from a long line of women who have expressed themselves using a needle and thread, so creating with various forms of fabric and thread have been part of my life since I was a child. As a contemporary fiber artist, I use vibrant color and bold graphic design to create quilts that have a strong visual impact as art for the wall.
My formal education includes a BA in Fine Arts from the College of William and Mary and an MBA from George Washington University. I used quiltmaking as a creative outlet for many years as I pursued a career in financial journalism, but I became a full time artist in 2006.
My work is represented by ArtfulHome.com and can be found in a number of private collections all over the country. I am a Juried Artist member of Studio Art Quilt Associates and the author of two books on improvisational quilting--Artful Improv and Adventures in Improv Quilts.
