I was born in New York , attended Queens College CUNY,B.A.1975 and then Yale University, M.F.A.1977.I was a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2000 and a NYFA Fellowship in 2005.I have shown at various galleries predominantly in New York over the last twenty five years. My work is also included in several private and public collections. My current body of work is reflective of my interest in Pre-Columbian imagery. I have traveled to Mexico over the years from which I have extracted a visual vocabulary primarily based on Aztec and Mayan codices. Dismembered skeletons, deities, animals, plants, shapes and patterns infused with bold color create a spatial dynamic and a new narrative. The drawings are meant to be simultaneously playful and demonic. They are projected over three dimensional forms that are mounted on the wall.
