John Borchard received a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Despite this un-artsy start, over the last seven years he has participated in about 30 solo and group shows throughout the region; his dreamy Fogscapes were selected for multiple American Art Collector and Studio Visit books, and he has received several awards including Best in Show.
He currently has work at The Finer Things Gallery in Nashville, the Susan Maasch Gallery in Portland, the Copley Society of Art in Boston, and the Shaw Gallery in Northeast Harbor, Maine. Past gallery affiliations include Alpers in Andover, Brush in Lowell, Clark in Lincoln, Danforth in Framingham, Daniels in Boston, Gallery 333 in Falmouth and Krause in Providence. The DeCordova Museum’s Corporate Loan Program includes several of his pieces.
His studio at 450 Harrison Avenue is at the epicenter of Boston’s SOWA art district and through November 2009 he has major shows at the Concord Art Association and on two floors of Boston City Hall itself.
