Duncan Madaris Hill was born in High Point, North Carolina, and now lives and works in New York City. He received his M.F.A. in Photographic & Electronic Media from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014, and a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2009. His work has been exhibited and published internationally.

Duncan has taught in the School of Communication at American University, The School of Art at George Mason University, and the Department of Fine Arts at Loyola University Maryland.
