Elizabeth Shanahan is a painter living and working in Lewisville, North Carolina. Shanahan graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art in 2015. She has studied at Lorenzo de’ Medici school in Florence, Italy in 2014 and completed a residency at Camac Centre d’Art in Marnay sur Seine, France in 2015.
Shanahan’s work focuses on the visual relationship between emotion and our natural surroundings. She has exhibited work at the Looking Glass, Smith, and Nth Degree Galleries in Boone, at Delurk Gallery in Winston Salem, at the LaGrange Art Museum in Georgia, and the Louvre Museum in Paris. She currently lives with her husband, their daughter, a hyperactive cattle dog, and a chronically disgruntled orange cat, and works out of a studio in their back yard.
