Emily Vargas is a mixed-media artist who creates drawings, paintings, prints, books, fiber art, and sculptures that explore themes of identity, the dream world, and imagination. In 2019, she was granted Edna McCandless Thornton Award. Vargas earned her AA degree at Middle Georgia State University in 2018 and will graduate with her BFA at Georgia State University in May 2021. She currently lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia while pursuing the completion of her degree.
