I have been actively involved as a professional practicing, teaching, and exhibiting visual artist for about 30 years with a concentration in painting, drawing, and three-dimensional arts. The proficiency that I have gained in my profession, the maturity and sensitivity that the accumulation of living experiences has brought, my interest in history, contemporary art and culture, science, writing, and ecology along with the mastery and knowledge of the basic art technical skills and the fundamentals of formal issues is the basis of my work as an artist.
I have a Master of Fine Arts from Bennington College in Vermont. I have taught at Wayne State University, College for Creative Studies in Detroit and am presently teaching at The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, and occasionally at the Detroit Art Institute.
The classes I am teaching are painting; all media, representational and experimental; design, color theory, and basic and figure drawing. I have done numerous workshops and presentations in the Unites States. I do critiques on an individual consultation basis and in group situations. I have served as juror and curator of several art exhibitions.
