Gerald R. Sherk is a self-taught, emerging artist. Gerald grew up in Ontario and loved art as a youth, taking every art class available in elementary and high school levels. After school, Gerald began a career with government administration and, while still loving art, lost the connection to those creative threads. During a long career with the Canadian Government, Gerald began painting as a hobby and a way to relieve stress. This quickly turned into a love affair with art and rekindled the creativity of his youth. Gerald has lived in three provinces and one territory where he has seen first hand the untold beauty Canada has to offer. Gerald loves to experiment in styles and mediums, learning from every project he does while also taking every opportunity to learn from other artists through workshops, seminars and reading everything he can get his hands on. Gerald finds inspiration in many places and can be found painting animals, nature, landscapes, architecture, people or anything else that happens to catch his eye. By being open to a variety of subjects, styles and mediums, Gerald hopes to keep growing as an artist and create art that inspires thought and feeling.
