After spending a 30 year career in the US AIr Force, Georgette Toews began taking art classes and fell in love with painting. She started in watercolor and moved on to pastels, acrylic and oil. She has received numerous awards in the last 15 years and has become involved in several organizations as President of the Kent Island Federation of Arts as well as Vice President of the Working Artists Forum in Easton, MD. Her art is inspired by the beauty of the Eastern Shore and is primarily landscape oriented, however she does do some still life. She travels as often as possible to various locations around the world and always has her sketchbook and watercolor journal with her to record the scene.
