Jason Berlin creates paintings that are strongly influenced by his Pacific Northwest heritage and culture and his interest in public spaces and the lives of the people who inhabit them. He started doing art at an early age and has studied under Rosemary Powelson and William Cummings in the nineteen eighties and more recently with Margaret Shirley and Joey Macca. He has been exhibiting his work in galleries and cultural centers through out Washington and Oregon. In addition, Jason’s paintings are in many private collections. Jason Berlin’s work frequently uses contemporary culture and vital traditional techniques to express vignettes of simplicity and contemplative silence. He continues to explore new ways to share his voice. Jason lives in Southwest Washington in the woods near the Columbia River and is represented by Cannibals Gallery of Portland, Oregon.
