Julia Zhang is an artist in Montgomery County, Maryland, who captures poignant moments from daily life in her work. Initially drawn to art in childhood, she later pursued a BS in Economics, an MS in Computer Science, and an MFA in Design, building a versatile career in economic analysis, software engineering, data visualization, animation, and virtual reality. In 2015, she joined NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio as a digital artist. Now a graduating MFA Studio Art student at American University, Julia’s diverse experiences bring depth and breadth to her art, enriching her understanding of her subjects and expanding her creative approach.
