ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne Jaffe is an multi-disciplinary artist who is Professor Emeritus of Interdisciplinary Fine Arts at the University of the Arts and has also taught at Tyler School of Art and Swarthmore. She has been a visiting artist at Xian Academy of Fine Arts and at Tianjin Academy of Art both in China.
Ms Jaffe is the recipient of fellowship grants for Outstanding Artistic Development from the Gottlieb Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Mid Atlantic/NEA. the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Independence Foundation, the Leeway Foundation, Mino Artist Residency in Japan, the Virginia A. Groot Foundation. Works by Ms. Jaffe have been exhibited both nationally and inter-nationally at such places as Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art Museum, Delaware Art Museum, Hill-wood Art Museum, Mino Washi Museum in Japan, Michener Art Museum, The Royal Scottish Acade-my of Edinburgh, Scotland, the Seokdang Museum of Art in Korea, the Mino Washi Ikari Museum in Mino Japan, and the London Craft Council Gallery in England. In the Philadelphia area, her work has been exhibited at Gallery Joe, Marginal Utility, PAFA, the Painted Bride, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, and Fleischer Art Memorial. Ms Jaffe has worked on collaborative projects involving her sculpture at the Kitchen in New York City with video artist Peter Rose.
Her work has been reviewed extensively, including in Art in America, The New York Times, and Sculp-ture Magazine.
Ms. Jaffe’s work are included in many private and public collections in such places as Pennsylvania Academy of Art Museum, Zimmerli Art Museum, New Brunswick, N.J, Abington Sculpture Garden, Abington, Pa., Rutgers Center for Innovative Printmaking, New Brunswick, N.J, and Museum of Ce-ramics at Alfred University, Alfred, N.Y.
Jeanne Jaffe holds a B.F.A. from Tyler School of Art and an M.F.A. from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
