Jon Jicha is Professor of Art at Western Carolina University in North Carolina where he has taught and practiced nearly all forms of art-making to include painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, graphic design, motion arts, and interactive arts. His practice includes painting and drawing, graphic design, exhibition curation, critical writing, and project development in the arts.
His publication designs for Black Mountain College Museum and Arts Center, Asheville Art Museum, and other art-related projects have received national and international awards. He is founder of the international forum, Ideas Without Walls and served as editor for the arts journal, Crits: Discourses on the Visual Arts.
