Abstract Fluid Acrylic Artist- You may have seen Jennifer’s abstract paintings on exhibit on the monumental screens at the Oculus World Trade Center, and her solo show on LinkNYC digital displays across from Lincoln Center.
"Working primarily with acrylic, I create fluid abstract paintings exploring viscosity, motion, vibration, and the interaction of color, to provoke emotion, spark curiosity, and visual delight. My signature cell details and drips down the canvas sides are evidence of the movement and spontaneity of the process. The colors mingle but still retain their integrity as they interact becoming something new when they meet. There is a roadmap I have envisioned when I start, but spontaneity and serendipity are welcomed, and expected.
Working in abstract painting, going beyond the representational world, to the pure, raw, power of emotion is what excites me. When colors combine, when we make a mark that means something to the spirit, beyond the known familiar image, breaking past the facade of our perception to something greater, that’s what motivates me."
Jennifer grew up in White Plains, NY and then started her career first studying Visual Arts at SUNY Purchase, then working as a photographer for over twenty years in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Working in the commercial world, allowed Jen to work on high profile projects with national brands, lead teams of creatives, and own her own business. Craving even more creativity, Jennifer focuses now on painting, which is her greatest passion.
Jennifer frequently works in series. Any of the works you see here, likely have siblings that would make for a show of multiples.
