create plein air and studio landscapes and seascapes, as well as portraits. Maine offers infinite painting inspiration with changing seasons, big sky, forests, ocean and marshes. Immersing myself deeply in nature and distilling nature's beauty into a painting that inspires the viewer's emotions is one of my goals. Capturing the values, play of lights and darks, and the chromatic intensity and temperature of colors fascinates and brings me endless challenge and joy.

I have always loved drawing and painting but was more involved with raising 3 children and my career as a Clinical Social Worker. In 2000 I decided to explore my dormant talent for painting and enrolled in a portrait class at the Washington Studio School.

From there I turned to study at the Yellow Barn studio in Bethesda, Md. with founder Walter Bartman. I continued study with Christine Lashley, Maud Taber-Thomas and Gonzalo Ruiz Navarro.

Since 2002 I have been a Maine painter, residing in Georgetown with my husband and dog, and spending winter months in Bethesda, Md. My paintings have been exhibited in juried shows in Maryland and mid-coast Maine. During the Pandemic I organized Pop Up Art shows in Georgetown's Robinhood Meeting House -- Aug., 2020 and July 4, 2021.

My paintings have sold in Washington, DC, Yarmouth, Georgetown, Damariscotta and Bath, Maine. My style is interpretive realism using fine oils on canvas and board.
