Catherine Jurkiewicz (who goes by her nickname, Katie) was born and raised in New Britain, CT. She is a visual artist, a writer, a graphic designer and world traveler. A graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, CT Katie received her MFA in Visual Art from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2008. Her work deals with sense of place and the interaction of different and sometimes disparate images within a single piece. She works primarily in the medium of drawing and collage but also completes large scale oil paintings on a part time basis. Her landscapes are drawn from by both her life long home in New Britain and her many travels worldwide.
