Katherine Jennings is an award-winning contemporary painter who works both en plein air and in her private studio. Her landscape, cityscape and seascape paintings reflect her love of travel. With diverse subjects ranging from an abandoned sugar plantation in Nevis to the rocky coastline of a remote Maine island, she is inspired by the incredible beauty found in such unique locations. Finding that the world can be transformed by the ephemeral beauty of light, her challenge is to capture that fleeting moment in her paintings. Influenced by the work of Edward Hopper and John Singer Sargent, she worked in the Nyack childhood home of Hopper in Development. She has been committed to the arts throughout her former career as an intellectual property attorney.
