Kris Iden is a Virginia artist born in Washington DC in 1964.
She grew up in Michigan and earned an MFA in printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991. She has exhibited widely throughout Virginia with numerous solo and group exhibitions. Her work has also been included in exhibitions in Canada, Chicago, German, Italy, South Korea, Peru and Poland.

Kris’ professional activity includes a 2001 Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship and a solo exhibition at the VMFA’s Pauley Center in 2015; an artistic residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in 2006/2010; and numerous presentations of public talks and workshops on the history and process of fine art printmaking. She lived in Germany from 2006-2009, maintained a private studio, received a 7-week residency fellow at Denkmalschmiede Höfgen, Kaditzch, Germany, exhibited work regionally, and collaborated with printers at Grafikwerkstatt Dresden. From 2012 to present, her artistic practice has been located in her private studio in Forest Hill Park, Richmond, Virginia. Kris’ work is included in numerous corporate, public, and private collections including Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, University of Richmond, Joel and Lila Harnett Print Study Center, Grafikwerkstatt Dresden, Hollins University, Mary Baldwin University and Jack Blanton Collection at Longwood Center for the Visual Arts.
