Kim Shockley Karelson studied drawing and painting at the University of Georgia from 1980-1985 then went on the study at Callanwolde Fine Art Center and Spruill Center for the arts in Atlanta. For over a decade Kim pursued Realism through the genre of landscape painting in a tradional style using oil paint . Recently her focus has shifted to the interpretation of the natural world through abstraction using American made Golden Liquid acrylics . She employs line and color to express form , light and energy . Kim's works are in many private and corporate collections including Omni Hotels International, International Commodities Exchange and King and Spalding Law Offices.
