Graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration. Lora Shelley's figurative paintings have been exhibited and collected around the world. Her work resides in private collections from Australia, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Shelley's work has been part of the Art in Embassies Program twice -- selected for exhibition in Lilongwe, Malawi, and Kinshasa. Later they were purchased by the American Ambassador. This was a most rewarding experience.

Lora Shelley was selected by both the Woodstock School of Art and the Woodstock Artist Association and Museum to be the printmaker of the year. Large editions of an original print made for each organization were created and hand pulled by Lora.

Lora Shelley's paintings range from oils to acrylics to pastels and mixed media.
She also is a skilled printmaker -- in woodcut, linocut, etching and monotype.
While Lora's primary concentration is painting, she also experiments in many media including weaving, clay and sculpture. But always returning to her true love, painting.

Lora's series of paintings featuring her iconic Diner waitresses have been featured many times as covers of regional magazines from The Valley Table and Chronogram (Hudson Valley, NY) Her work has also been featured in Decor magazine, The Country and Abroad, W.I.G. magazine, Catskill Mountain Foundation Guide, and Art Business News.
