The union of visual expressivity and formal composition, the atomization of individual components into a cohesive whole, and the synthesis of art and architectural design inspire my work. Impossible for me to separate art from my architectural training, and inconceivable to divide architectural design from my art orientation, both worlds naturally inform my one, interdisciplinary self.
I was born and raised in a picturesque town on the Hudson River. At eighteen, I fled to the smokestacks of New York City where I found myself at the prestigious Pratt Institute, earning my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. I also hold a Master of Fine Arts from Tulane University and a Master of Science in Architecture & Urban Design from Columbia University.
My full-time focus for over a decade has been on large-scale commissions and the expansion of my glass studio. Busy creating both private and public pieces, my work can be seen in New York City, the Mid-West, North West, and throughout the Gulf Coast Region. My public commissions are featured in the permanent collections of New York’s Montefiore Medical Center, Baylor University Medical Center and the University Hospital System in Texas, Xavier University in New Orleans, and Louisiana State University, to name a few.
I reside in New Orleans where I am dedicated to its revitalization and growth. In addition to running my studio, I serve on the Board of the YaYa Art Center (Young Aspirations/Young Artists), and am a founding board member of the non-profit New Orleans Creative Glass Institute. My teaching influences have been felt from high school to my notoriously challenging design courses at Tulane University and the prestigious Pilchuck Glass School.
I am accustomed to the collaborative nature of design and welcome opportunities to work with designers, engineers, and various stakeholders to realize each project. My reputation is that of a friendly yet highly motivated and focused team leader – with lots of imagination and positive creative energy to spare. Although rooted, I love traveling and welcome commissions beyond the Swamp region.
