An independent quilt designer, Lucy added author and fabric designer to her list of accomplishments with the 2002 release of Quilt Style and the 2003 release of her first fabric line, Watercolor by Number.
She has been a contributing writer for The Quilter Magazine (formerly Traditional Quilter) since 1999 and has been a regular contributor to Quilter's World (formerly Quick & Easy Quilting and Quilt World) since 1994. She's had eight booklets of quilting designs published by House of White Birches and All American Crafts. Since 1999 she has self-published designs as Lucy Fazely Designs. Her designs have been featured in Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications, Quilting for Christmas, Quick & Easy Patchwork, McCall's Quilting, McCall's Quick Quilts, Quilting Ideas, Quilt Almanac, Miniature Quilts, Quilting Today, Arts & Crafts Magazine, Fabric Trends and Quilts & Coordinates. Her work has also been included in fifteen quilting books including Fun Photo-Quilts & Crafts by Ami Simms (Mallery Press, 1999) and Strip Quilting Projects 9 by Kaye Wood (Kaye Wood Publishing, 1993).
Lucy has been teaching/lecturing on a variety of quilting techniques since 1993 and is currently teaching coast to coast. Working with fabric, batting, thread and template manufacturers, Lucy designs quilts for national and international quilt trade shows and has designed many free pattern handouts for the fabric manufacturers. Her quilts have traveled around the United States, to Europe, Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand representing RJR Fashion Fabrics, Princess Mirah Design Bali Batiks, Northcott, Kaufman Fine Fabrics, P&B Textiles, David Textiles, Sew/Fit Templates, Coats & Clark, and Kreinik Metallic Threads. Many in the quilt world easily recognize her distinctive style.
