Degrees in Dramatic Art (UCSB, l971), and Elementary Education (Sonoma State University, l973), with 60+ graduate units in Educatiion and Spanish. Trained for California Language Development Specialist, and BCLAD credentialing in State of California. Have taught with credentials in Hawaii, California, Nevada and Washington State. Much of my teaching was in Spanish bilingual classes and vocal music classes. I speak fluent Spanish and decent French. Now retired in Santa Barbara, California. Just before the pandemic, I inherited a collection of manuscripts and sheet music from a relative. It contains many folders of piano sheet music starting as far back al 1885 and there is a folder for each year from l900 to l947. The cover art is priceless! I envision an exhibit of cover art which could easily be presented in embassies focusing on the imagery of women in the cover art, accompanied by recordings and examples of song lyrics, noting the various musical movements throughout the time periods late 1800's to late l940's. Through displays of the music lyrics inside the sheets, one could travel through the attitudes, feelings, and prejudices contained therein. And viewing the cover art is a delight for me, personally, and I am confident would be pleasing to any audiance. I am currently making a full catalogue of the Collection's entire contents which would be available to your curators. I am a former teacher and actor, and current musician and singer, and have lined up helpers, all members of my family, to help in various ways with the collection/project. I would be willing to work personally as a curator or trainee, whatever is felt necessary to make this project available. I envision a traveling exhibit that could be temporarily displayed in embassies across the world.
