I am a contemporary abstract painter who has worked for over 25 years and exhibited widely in the US and abroad.
I have lived in California, Colorado, New York,London, Amsterdam, and Almaty, Kazakhstan.
I received my MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1983 and am influenced by California abstract and color field painting. I work in oil and acrylic on canvas and am interested in painting layers that both occlude and reveal geometric and expressive imagery.
I have been a frequent Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome and am in numerous museum collections, including The Denver Art Museum, the Portland Museum of Art, the San Jose Art Museum, the Palo Alto Art Museum and the Kasteev National Museum of Art in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
I currently live and work in New York and have had recent exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles.
