Accra-based photographer, cinematographer, and director, Onasis Gaisie fell in love with photography as A boy–taking and developing pictures with his father. He photographed everything from family to flora and watched the photos bloom into being as his father washed the films.
In 2014, Onasis began the transition from his childhood hobby to a professional career, serving as the official photographer for the annual Ghana Garden and Flower show–a role he also secured in 2015. His first joint exhibition - The Architect Project - followed in 2017. As a freelance photographer, Onasis has developed a broad portfolio and has notably been recognized as a Getty Images contributor. In 2019, Onasis joined the boutique Media-Production company, Apag Studios, as a Production Manager and creative director. At Apag Studios, he has overseen projects for clients among whom are UNICEF and FC Nordsjaelland.
Onasis cannot help, but naturally portray the culture, lifestyle, and fashion of his native country, Ghana–from past to current trends, in his works.
