Peter Krsko is an active figure in the cultural and creative scene in Washington DC. Scientist by training, explorer by heart, Krsko constantly envisions new projects to involve urban residents in civic life in their own cities. Krsko’s main goal has been “tricking people into learning”. To him, art represents a significant element that has allowed the humans to develop the contemporary society. During his fellowship at the National Institutes of Health Krsko had a rare opportunity to use precise and powerful technology to study appearance and softness of various natural communities. He discovered a beautiful universe of beings living at various scales within and around us and being so similar to our own cities and our own macroworld. Krsko’s art comes from long studies of natural color and shapes from scientific data, microscopic images celebrating diversity within natural world and human society. He loves sharing his art through large public works and social interactive projects that empower the participants with creative resources in their efforts to build a better world.
