Rachel was born in Southern California in 1992. She was raised between Suriname and Russia with extended stays in the Middle East and South East Asia. In 2011 she moved to Los Angeles for University.
Drawing from the Eastern and Western cultures she was raised in along with her Armenian American background; Rachel mixes imagery, techniques, and narratives to create abstract paintings. Her work speaks to the tension, beauty, and contrast of the world as it becomes more globalized and diverse. Her work, while abstract, contains several images throughout that are both familiar and foreign as it merges into a single painting.
