I was born in 1960 on an army base in Japan and currently live and work in New York City. I grew up in Colorado where my experiences in the Rocky Mountain wilderness enabled me to develop a deep appreciation of the natural world. This appreciation is the foundation of my artwork. I earned a BA from Carleton College, and an MFA from Pratt Institute. I've participated in exhibitions including Modern West Gallery, Salt Lake City; Ellen Noel Art Museum, Odessa Texas; Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education, Portland ME; and Flinn Gallery, Greenwich CT. My solo exhibitions and installation venues include Brooklyn College; Cheryl McGinnis Gallery; and St. Thomas Aquinas College, Flatiron Prow Artspace, New York, and Art Wall on Third, Midtown Manhattan Library, and a billboard sponsored by Ecoartspace and Our Humanity Matters. My work has been featured in You Are Here NYC, Mapping the Soul of the City by Katherine Harmon, (Princeton Architectural ) and Making Art From Maps, by Jill K. Berry (Quarto Publishing Group) and has been reviewed and/ or reproduced in numerous publications, among them, Trunk Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Apartment Therapy, Quest Magazine, Dark Mountain Project, and PCA Stream. My work is represented in numerous collections, including Agnes Gund, President Emeritus, Museum of Modern Art, New York. Until my retirement in June 2023 I was a dedicated elementary school art teacher in New York City.
