Rebecca Rose (b. 1980) resides in the Orlando area, just south of the theme parks.
I began creating Sculpturings at age 19 while attending NAU under a full tuition arts scholarship. She studied with Joe Cornett Jr., and was a student supervisor under his instruction before graduating early with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001. In 2009 at the Maitland Art Center, she also studied with Jim Hosner, and Parsons professor Paul Maltrildonno.
My work blends luxury and precious metals with current issues and events. Sculpture and jewelry are redefined beyond their traditional sense, each piece with unique form and storytelling. The approach offers a way to prompt discussion on social change as the work moves with it's owner, rather than art that waits for its audience. Sculpturings are that art form; functional mobile sculpture on a small scale.
In addition to traditional galleries, online galleries and social networking sites allow anyone to collect, curate, and crave works of art, but soon gallery walls will expand beyond the physical sense as the audience takes the art with them, wearing the forms and sharing the ideas with those they encounter.
My work has shown extensively throughout New York on Madison Ave. and Los Angeles, and is collected by Emmy Award Winning Actors, Producers, Television Celebrities, and Broadway Musicians.
